What is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy?

Founded and developed by Professor Aaron Beck in the 1960’s, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy whereby the therapist works with the client on a range of psychological issues, by helping them look at how thoughts, feelings and behaviour interact. A CBT therapist will help the client to change and adapt the thoughts and behaviour that are causing emotional problems.

How Effective is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy?

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) has been shown to be the most effective form of psychological treatment for Anxiety, Stress, Panic Attacks, Depression and a range of other psychological problems. It is the most popular form of intervention within the NHS and private psychological services internationally.
